The Agri-Business Council of Oregon was pleased to welcome chef Alfred Popp of Popp and Company as the guest chef of the 11th Annual Denim and Diamonds dinner and auction.
Guests tasted the flavors of Oregon agriculture starting off with corn chowder and salad topped with pears and hazelnuts, followed up by braised Painted Hills short ribs with chanterelles and potatoes, then indulged their sweet tooth on cheesecake topped with Oregon marionberries for dessert. The 11th Annual Denim & Diamonds dinner and auction was held at the Governor Hotel (now Sentinal Hotel) on Friday, November 21, 2008.
Bernie Faber, a retired Oregon dairy farmer, was presented with the 2008 Agriculturist of the Year award and Thayne Dutson, Dean of Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences was honored with the 2008 Ag Connection of the Year award.
